well Erik has made it to the shop ..
we got started removing the old engine

and a little cleaning

cut the drivers fender

built a trey

and welded it in . And now I have enough room for the correct evap can

Ok, that's cool. I haven't gotten around to putting the 2.7 charcoal can in yet and I wasn't sure if I going to, but that's clean and makes me want to do the same thing. :thumbs:

I like this can better , it's original , and all the VSV's that are suppose to work with it .. well , they do ! .. notice the little bead roll in the bracket

got the full "custom " exhaust built
2.5" bent in house

header pipe being built

and all installed

had some issues with the swap engine .. so we needed to get another . engine swapped and now running like a champ .. Erik has decided he wanted us to do the door skins as well , before paint

off with the original skin !!

looks like we got to it just in time ! (both doors were about the same condition)
cleaned up the inside and laid down some POR15 ..

POR should be ready for me to proceed tomorrow AM ... and so I got the skin all prepped and ready to EPOXY tomorrow as well

Dang, Eric has a lot of money.

I think its more "priorities" ... he is not married , has a good job and wants to keep his 4Runner for a long , LONG time . it was either payments for 5 years for a new vehicle , or fix the one unit he loves , he chose this path !


and really .. these door skins are only $125.00 ea. ....... I just showed you how it's done ! ... why wouldn't you do this to stop the rust ! these doors now , theoretically , should last forever ... or well until the untreated steel rusts away
