Do i have to change the oil after a seafoam?
I just changed it a week ago and yesterday i got a check engine light plus VSC OFF and VSC TRAC lights both on, the code is P0505 (Idle air control value control circuit)
I want to try the cheapest methods before taking it to a shop.
the receipt that autozone gave says:

Troubleshooting P0505 OEM brand: toyota

1. Open or short circuit condition
2. Poor electrical connection
3. Failed IAC motor

Troubleshooting P0505 OEM brand: domestic

1. Vacuum leak on engine ((maybe the decaplate with the K&N filter?))
2. Dirty throttle body ((i doubt that this is the only problem))
3. IAC motor defective
4. Poor electrical connection to the IAC valve

Oh yeh i cleaned the MAF sensor but the light came back again today.
Please HELP!!!

1. Means to check your vaccum lines for cracks, tears and to make sure they are properly connected and not loose.
2.Remove your intake tube and open the butterfly on the throttle body and see if its dirty. If so clean.
3. there is a couple different things to look for if its the IAC sensor. Does the vehicle idle speratictly? Does it stall? Does it stall when you put the a/c on or heat? If your vehicle is doing any of the above you should replace the sensor. Its not difficult.
4. I would just unplug the IAC plug and make sure its clean and then reconnect.
Why exactly did you use seafoam?

Thanx for the reply
Yes the truck idles kinda low between 500 and sometimes 400 since day1.
I didnt seafoam yet, i thought i would clean the throttle body?
where is the IAC plug located?

I took it to a mehcanic shop and he said he couldnt check the idle air control sensor and told me to take it to the dealer to test it and he said they'll charge me about $180 for testing and call him back to compare the fixing price.

It's a big mechanic shop, i don't know what went wrong why he can't check it.

Thanks for your help fishingt4r.

I am having the same problem, trucks runs good, has idled at 400-500 since I bought it on 03 w/ 31K on it.

Now has 123K. Dies sometimes at idle. Throwing the p0505, same code as above. Check engine and trac and vcs are all lit indash.

Any new info would be thankful.

I was hoping to just replace the iac, but the 01 - 02's are different from the previous 2000 and under setups, correct?

Thanks in advance.
