Esurance wont insure runner, dropped me!

I have esurance and was talking to a rep today about certain issues with my policy. Everything was going good until I mentioned that my runner was lifted. He explained that he could not insure my 4runner because it was modified...so now I have to drop this insurance company and find another one.

Any suggestions?

I just recently switched from Allstate after years as a customer because they wouldn't add extra coverage for equipment and accessories other than $2500 for stereo.

I moved to AAA and was able to add $11k of additional equipment coverage for about $154 extra per year. Maybe check them out if you can find a local agent.

State Farm- nice having a local rep too. I've had plenty of modified vehicles insured by them with no issues. I rolled my YJ that was on 44's and they totaled it out with no issues. I can see them not covering the value of the modifications, but not making you drop the insurance.

+1 for Statefarm. My fiancee works there so I'm a little biased, but she always tells me how much they payout for totaled vehicles. I have Statefarm as well and my agent tries to finagle discounts for me by reporting in certain ways to reduce my fees. I can't complain about my insurance company.

Example:
I have a 1995 T100 and a 2002 4Runner. My agent put my T100 as my primary and 4Runner as secondary because my T100 is 7 years older and is cheaper to have as my primary. And when I report mileage, she somehow keeps the T100 as my primary. I don't know how as I throw about 5x more mileage a week into the 4Runner, but it happens and I like it :)

Costco insurance

Costco insurance technically Ameriprise

Just switched after being with farmers for over 3 decades. Less expensive for same coverage! FYI. Don't
Mention a lift. Lol. I mean it's only 2.5"-3"..

It's not like a monster truck

Switched from USAA to Geico after years and am always shopping around to save a buck since I seem to change vehicles pretty often. Geico has gotten my business recently but I have never had to have a claim with them. USAA was smooth sailing when it came to a comprehensive claim on my F250.

StateFarm was good to deal with and my old roommate got a hell of a payout on an 86 BMW 325es. Something like 4400. State Farm didnt need to know that the odometer stopped working at 220k lol. That thing was hellbeat and probably had 1/2 a million miles on it.

AAA, insurance is what I got. For first time driver with two tickets I'm at 120$ a month plus u can get good discounts for towing and other support.

I had state farm for 13 years but I let my insurance lapse for 2 months and they wouldn't let me get insurance with them unless I signed with someone else for a year. That pretty much eliminated any chance of me ever going with state farm again. I could see it if I was a new customer but I'd been with the same agent since I was 16. I've been with geico ever since.

Yeah lapses are bad, I had it happen to me. I let my motorhome lapse on purpose and they act like I'm a criminal. Boo!

State Farm is the way to go. I work for state farm and have been insured with them since I started driving 10, years ago.

Don't let your insurance lapse like a responsible person and you'll have no problems. High risk companies will insure anyone.

If you have a clean record state farm is the way to go. They don't care about whether it's modified or not. My vehicle was totalled and they still insure it for full coverage. Not to mention local agent, #1 rating by JD power and so many more details where they provide more covered for behind the scenes things...ie legal fees, vehicle valuation, etc

Same here. I left Amica when I realized they were shafting me, plus they were completely incompetent when I did end up having claims. Went with Costco Ameriprise and my monthly bill literally cut in half.

For the guy who had Allstate, your agent wasn't very good.

I have Allstate and about a year ago I rolled my FJ, while wheeling. When I lifted my FJ and put a bunch of other goodies on I called my agent told her I wheel and that I had bunch of aftermarket accessaries on it. She wrote me a policy for a stated value of up to $35k. When I rolled my FJ and it was deemed a total, they took kbb Plus how much my suspension, skids, snorkel, stereo, custom bumper, and winch cost new. All and all I got a check for $32k and was very very pleased how the whole process was handled. Oh and yes, I told them I was off-roading when I rolled it.

When my truck got totaled, Statefarm gave me a nice check including my tires, lift, etc. plus I kept the truck. Made out fine and have both current Runners on policy.

I don't know man, if you have a customer that has been loyal for 13 years and no accidents but lets their insurance lapse once in 13 years and you kick them to the curb??? Pretty crappy in my book.

Very possible. I even asked about a stated value policy and was told no. Could differ by state as insurance in Florida is just plain expensive and difficult many times.

It may differ from state to state, I didn't think about that. Florida seems to be a completely different animal from Colorado.
