euy build thread! FJ springs/shocks + Daystar

So how much lift do you get with just he FJ set up?
I picked up the front springs with struts and rear springs with socks form a FJ.
I wanted to firm up the ride some. I dont want to do to much lift since I drive it every day and have a lifted rig thats not a Dd any more.

i installed the front FJ springs/shocks and the DS leveling kit at the same time so i never had just the FJ set up in by itself. from all the stuff i have read and guestimating from my install, heights vary from .5" to 1" with just the springs. not really sure if the shocks add any height. but from my calculations, i got 3.5" with the FJ s/s and DS 1" pad. which i think equal 2.5" from the DS pad and 1" fron the FJ s/s. if you don't want a lot of lift i would think throwing in the FJ stuff straight up would be really good. the ride is so perfect with the FJ stuff its amazing. it is just night and day compared to the 4R s/s. even if i decide one day down the road to get rid of the leveling kit, i will not take out the FJ stuff. it rides too good to take out.

I really like the look! I almost got yours but my girl has the highlander in that color and we couldn't both have it, although it would have been perfect with my redskins tags.

back to topic...I really like the 1.5 in the rear, it looks great! I have all next week off so now it's a decision between just throwing in the shocks/springs because I'll have time or wait longer so I can purchase the 2 DS kits and find some time down the line to get it in...tough decision!

How's the body roll and handling in general with the extra height?

Looks great!! What tire size are you running? I'm about to do a similar lift. I have the FJ springs, ordering the Bilstein C513/C514 shocks. I plan on running 265/70/17 Revo 2's. Would the Toytec TOP1-T be a good spacer? Website says 3/4" lift, but have read its actually 1". I think the Daystar might be a little to much for what i'm looking for. Again your rig looks great!

i am running hankook 265/65-18 which spec at 31.4 according to their website. the revo's that you are thinking about (265/70-17) are 31.7. so they are almost the same height. if you just want that little bit of lift the toytec should be perfect, raised with still a little bit of rake. the DS by itself will give you a level look with the wheel wells the same height but the running boards will be reverse rake to the rear.

the FJ S/S handles so much better than the 4R S/S that even with the extra height handling is still greatly improved over stock. body roll is less, hard braking nose dive is a lot less, rear sag acceleration is less, and ride is so much better. it really is unbelievable how much better the FJ S/S are in every aspect. for the DS kit, check my post below and follow the link. 4wheelparts is having a sale and the front and rear DS is only $80 plus some other discounts apply so you can get it less than that.

update:

got the alignment done this morning. after the lift the camber measured in at + 1/2 degree. corrected to - 1/2 degree.
