The battery packs are the fuel system equivalent of the diesel, when everything is running well it's a winner, but when things go wrong, get ready to spend some BIG $$$.
Less likely a 4Runner gets totaled because of a scratched gas tank. Even so, way cheaper to change out a gas tank compared to an EV's battery.
Way more greener too.
