every warning light is on

just about every warning light that can be on is. i've got a check engine, slipping light, vsc trac, vsc, maint and tire pressure. everything except tire pressure and maint just came on. Anyone ever had this happen? ive got a 2005 sport v8 with 70k.

The car appears to be running just fine. I drove it a couple hundred miles yesterday with no noticeable problems. Tried tightening the gas cap. I also unplugged the two connections to the ABS system and reconnected those. Nothing.

It sounds like some people with the same symptoms have had to replace their O2 sensor to correct the problem. The thing is, I don't know that I want the traction control active. I just don't want the problem to snowball into something bigger. But it would be nice not to have to drop a bunch of cash right now, so any advice is appreciated.

Did you reset the ECU by puling the battery cables for 10 minutes or so?

After you tighten your gas cap, disconnect the battery for 10 mins to reset the ECU. Then start it up again.

If the lights still come on after reset/restart, then try a NEW gas cap. On my 2005, I had this exact problem on and off until I replaced the gas cap (~$20) and voila, problem solved.

As for the maint. light and tire pressure lights, I'm assuming you already know how to fix those...

Go to autozone, get the codes. Throwing parts at it is pointless without knowing the codes.

I've heard to make tire pressure light go off you need to have every tire including the spare have equal pressure.

I know the maint light comes on when the car thinks it's time for an oil change but I forget how you get it to turn off.

The tire pressure light goes off when any single tire drops below a certain PSI. For the T4R, I think it's 27 psi or something. Usually people have their 4 main tires inflated to the correct pressure, but forget about the spare.

Good point.... I think when I had my problem the code I pulled was P0456, small evap. leak. The gas cap fix worked for me, but sometimes this also indicates other evap. system failures (charcoal canister, solenoid valves, etc.).
