Replacing both front wheel bearings at 100k miles is a good thing.
Old thread I know, but I am having this very similar issue.
Here are my details.
1. The truck is new to me. 30 days so far. 2011 LE. I did not notice this at first and I feel like it's getting more easily noticeable.
2. th edescription above is very good. It's like a mild buzz+ hum+very mild vibration but I am now able to actually some of that vibration in the floor board with my left foot.
3. It sounds like the driver front to me but I have not sat on the passenger side.
4. 98,000 miles
5. If I go through a sweeping turn that is right, straight, left, straight, right. It will be quite(r), hum(s), hum(l), hum(s), quiet(r). So it clearly it not present on right turns.
6. Tires are new and just a basic 245/20".. I forget the exact model.
7. Got this at CarMax so I need to be able to present this to them for warranty but would like to know what is involved in this "bearing assembly" and how difficult is it to replace?

If you have a warranty, why not make Carmax deal with it?

sounds similar to my tacoma wheel bearing that went bad
That's my plan, but I wanted to educate myself on the situation. I've looked up the the assemblies, and it looks pretty easy to fix.
I just like to know the answer to the question before I go in. I don;t want to go through the "maybe it's a tire, let's rotate them" or "it's road noise".
I want to be as up to speed on this as I can before I go in.
Also I would like to be sure they replace the whole assembly and not just the bearing. In fact, I would like both sides done... but I'm not sure that would fly.

Update for anyone that is tracking this.

Based on what I learned here regarding bearings, tire matching, owners manual info etc...
CarMax would not allow the use of the B2B Auto units. It's either Toyota or a parts supplier they have an account with. Also they would not replace both if only one had failed. I can understand that. It is a business and they need across the board rules.
What they did confirm was that it was the 'Driver's Side' as I had expected. The symptoms were the exact opposite of most wheel bearing diags. Meaning turning to right made the sound diminish yet it was not a right side failure.
Additionally they had just replaced two front tires but the rears were still in spec for State Inspections. I brought up the 4WD mismatch issue as mentioned in the owners manual and asked them their take on it.
Bottom line. They installed two new matching tires and the defective wheel bearing at no cost to me. So outstanding service. No back and forth pondering or questions about being a couple weeks outside the 30 Day warranty. They just looked at all the facts and said yep, that's what we need to do and did it without hesitation.
So for reference in general.

CarMax Customer Service 100% in favor of the Customer.
