I have 14 feet of 500# para cord on my wrist that could potentially be used to drag a fellow firefighter out of a bad situation.
"Survival"? Ooookay. Drop someone in the desert with a box of these, and in a week you'll find a colorfully-decorated corpse. Water packets, first-aid kits, a good knife, a compass--those are "survival" aids. What is a bracelet supposed to save you from? I'm sure McGyver could put these together with some paper clips and build a shopping mall, but in the real world, this is what they call a gimmick. If you want paracord, buy a spool at the local army surplus shop.
I love these things but can't quite imagine a fellow firefighter being in a life or death situation and you taking the time to remember your bracelet and then take it off and figure how to untie/unravel it to make it useful. I'm just hoping if you're a firefighter and on duty, you have better tools than a bracelet.
That being said, I'll take one. Can you make one for an ankle though? I'm not super keen on wearing one around my wrist all the time.
