I have a 1999 4Runner SR5 4x4, 3RZ-FE.
I took my exhaust out from just behind the catalytic converter all the way back to better access my frame (it needs plates welded in). Big rust issue there. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=108291&stc=1&d=1390181278
Now, since the exhaust is out, the muffler looks sort of bad. All rusty and the there is a small hole and a crack in the side. No discernible leak. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=108292&stc=1&d=1390181545
I am thinking I might replace it, since it will likely go soon anyway. Was thinking about a Thrush Welded, I do not want something too loud, but from looking on Youtube, lots of people have put them on 3.4s. I like the sound. Are there any other exhausts I should look into?
Another question, should I start a thread detailing my repairs and modifications? My 4Runner is getting sort of redone. More like fixed in many ways. Doing all work myself with my uncle's help, he's a pro welder.
