(?) exhaust system

I am looking into upgrading my stock exhaust system in my 2001 4runner 3.4 2x4.

The only engine mods I have is a K&N air intake system & I would like to add exhaust to assist the air flow.

So where should I start to look ? I want something that will have a nice tone to the sound but is not to loud for long drives.

I was thinking about Flow masters system or anything ells I am looking to stay under $350.00

Have you considered just a muffler? The gains you will see with a full system are minimal. However, If you want a full system your best bet is to go to your local muffler shop and tell them what you want. Just pick a muffler you like from the various threads/videos floating around here. For the system you will want 2.25 inch piping. You should be able to do that easily for under $350.

im having the trd cat back system installed saturday. i will post pics and hopefully i can figure out how to post the sound file as well. if anyone knows how to do that let me know.

I agree with the others, stick to just a muffler unless you plan on adding a super charger.

I have the Cherrybomb Vortex and I'm happy with it.

I was thinking about going with 2 & 1/2 inch piping & later down the road adding more small mods.

My 4runner is a 2X4 & I would use it to go camping & to haul a small trailer for a ATV or 2 dirt bikes & maybe a pop up tent trailer.

no really sure? 2.5 is my guess? the local muffler shop did mine. the only input i had was flowmaster and the exhaust tips and the angle they ran it. i also wanted the 50 series, but unfortunately they only carried the 40.

as far as power loss i dont really guess so? it wasn't fast before and it isn't fast now so i can't really tell.
