extended brake line fitment issue, frustrations.

My good friend just had a nail gun misfire and take out his eye. I think that's worth getting this pissed off about, not a leaky brake line.

Sonoran Steel for me on my 97. Easy install and no problems. Just send it back to Toytec and get one from SS. His stuff always works for me. And has been helpful when needed.

no i am happy with toytec and not trying to bash them at all. their customer service has been outstanding (as evident that dylan posted up here), they called me last night just before closing time for them and i missed the call -i was fighting that rear line and wasnt in the happiest of moods so i thought it best to not talk to someone while i was so pissed.




i know things could be much worse, i know other people are having bad days. im just *****ing about mine, sorry i didnt know i wasnt allowed to do that around a group of people who might understand or have some understanding of what is going on.... my bad

i was gonna do this but i laughed at them when they quoted me $200+ to make 3 lines... then i walked in an showed them the lines that i got from toytec for much less with the DOT stamp in them and told the guy at the counter he was way off his rocker if he thought that i was gonna pay that much...

It got jammed and fired a nail out sideways right through his eye, no protection....the fatal mistake for the eye was that he pulled the 3" spike out himself, taking the lense of his eye with it and causing massive damage....currently he is blind in that eye.

obviously you have never replaces a brake line or dont much work on your own vehicle... your question screams "i dont know what im talking about"... for starters, the line would then be way too long and you would run the risk of snagging it or pinching it, other wise damaging it, not to mention that you can not hook two lines together, as the fittings dont match :der::rockthrow:



in other news i talked with dylan at toytec a couple times today, he took the time to go and look at another rig there, and actually do an instal on another runner using their lines. sure enough, i am not way off my rocker. toytec is making it right and gonna get the right lines, with the proper amount of clips and washers. i knew i would not get hung out to dry by toytec, and i am happy to report that things are being taken care of to my satisfaction, and i did not even have to ask them to do so, they offered. so i want to take the time thank dylan personally and let you all know that toytec is standing behind their products and has great customer service and is making everything right! -i will buy from them again, and again

part of my initial frustration might have had something to do with the fact that i had not eaten all day and my boss at work was being lazy and that cost me weeks wadges -so yeah the title of this might be a little harsher than needed. im sure a mod can fix this though.

Dude, I feel for you, my good friends father had the same thing happen, but it just missed his eye itself. It went right between the 'eye cord' (cant think of the correct term) and a major blood vessel. The Dr that removed it said that he couldn't have placed it where it was, without hitting them....

He recovered fully, losing only about three inches of peripheral vision in his one eye.

Sorry that's wayyyy off topic, but as sucky a situation this is I'm glad to see how great toytecs customer service is. I'll definitely be making any purchases I can through them.

well a little update... i got an email from Dylan at toytec a couple weeks ago keeping me updated on the progress of the new lines, and hopefully they should be here in a couple weeks or so(just hoping, not actual time frame given at this point). anyhow yeah today i was working on a new mod that some of you(especially those of you with BB skids might like enjoy) and i took a quick look at my brake lines and saw something on one that caught my eye and attention- wetness around the spindle side fitting/crimp. not a lot, not shiny but defiantly wetness! then i looked closer and saw that the sheath around the steel braiding was splitting and some of the stainless was starting to fray. this was kinda shocking. so i went to the other side and saw the same thing.

id love to up load pics for you guys but as some of you might know my main computer took a crap on me a couple weeks ago(i fried the mother board trying to clean dust out of it -long story), and so i cant edit or upload pics from my phone or camera to the computer or internet -the computer im using now is kinda sketchy and bi-polar, i dont trust it to even send an email without crashing. if anyone wants to see pics i can text them to you just send me a PM with your cell number and ill send them to you that way. i will post up the pics as soon as i get my regular computer fixed.
