Extended Viair filter?

Has anyone extended the filter for their Viair compressor?
Since this is mounted in the engine bay where it gets pretty HOT, I thought about figuring out a way to get some cool air into the compressor.
Anything thoughts or ideas?

I've got the portable (450 I think) and it appears to use a standard-ish pipe thread for the filter housing. Is yours similar? Since these are made in China I'm guessing the threads might be wonky. However, the air chuck uses a more or less "standard" size so I'd guess the other threads are too.

Are you running this for lockers or other purpose that means you normally run it with the hood closed? If not....I wouldn't sweat it. If it's running with the engine on and the hood up it's getting a blast of cool air.

Other option....maybe add a big computer case fan wired in with the motor so it gets cooled whenever it's running. I just added one in the cabinet with my fridge to move the hot air away. I'll see how much difference it makes in a few months once the temps start to climb.

I talked to the guys at Viair, they said yes, it will benefit the compressor but to make sure you change the filter monthly. lol
I was kind of thinking about running a line into the cab just to make sure its getting cooler clean air.
I have gone through a few compressors, the MV50, ARBs I think 3 of those lol so just thinking about how to make this one last longer lol.

I have my Vair mounted under the hood. When I am airing up tires hood it open. When it is on for the locker it doesn't run long.
