Extended Warranty? 2015 4Runner limited

Doesn't Toyota contact the customer directly with an extended warranty offer at some point before they figure your factory warranty is set to expire?

Every other manufacturer I'm familiar with does, and it's always a lot cheaper than buying it from the "business manager" when you first purchase the vehicle.

I did not buy, today wish I did.

New spark plugs and coils wasn't a few hundred bucks two weeks ago to fix a misfire, and this week my air stopped cooling. Says a need evaporator core replaced, quoted 2300. So far the lowest phone quote I got elsewhere is 1200.

2011 w 80,000. Also one heated seat switch doesn't work right and I live with it. Always been dealer maintained.

Guys, I just purchased a 10 year 125,000 mile platinum 0 deductible Toyota factory warranty for my 2016 limited from Elite Motor Mall in Michigan, I do not live in Michigan. I paid total of 1795 OTD which is $200 over the actual cost of the warranty. Also if you live outside of MI, there is no sales tax. Feel free to PM and I can give you info on the warranty I purchased. Dont know if the other guy who sells warranties here honors the same price!

Im generally opposed but also know 1 repair (after 3 yr/36,000 coverage expires) can cost $1000 pretty easy.

I always negotiate it into the deal to match the length of the loan. I figure one semi-major issue will pay for it. I had one repair (on a VW TDI) that payed for it three times over.

They are basically a security blanket. Sometimes they pay off (and big time) or you get little to no value out of them. I just figure for a little bit of cost up front could save me a ton in the end.... possibly..

Can you PM me the info please? I just bought a new 2016 limited from an IL dealer and he was trying to sell me an autonation warranty and not the toyota extra care so i opted out of his warranty last second and figured I can just get it from someone else later on. Thanks in advance....

Depends on how much you drive, or how little you drive. I do less that 8000 miles a year so a longer yearly plan works for me. If you drive a ton the higher mileage plans work best.

To help show how much I feel like I would be getting ripped off just from reading earlier posts and helping others see what is currently being offered out there, my local dealer here in Mid NC is quoting the following Platinum vehicle service agreement through Fidelity with $0 deductible at Toyota dealerships:

6YR/100k $2750
8YR/100k $2900
10YR/100k $3050

The finance lady didn't even entertain the thought of lowering the price on it, granted I bought it used at a different dealer and lost some of that leverage.
