Extended Warranty? 2015 4Runner limited

I just sent you a PM with the pricing structure. The prices they quoted you is over double or even triple what you should pay.
[MENTION=139883]mizzouxc[/MENTION], while we all know Toyota makes quality vehicles, there are times things can go wrong and a small investment early on can end up saving a person thousands in the long run.
If EW are not your thing, all good, but for some they wish to have that security blanket "just in case".

Extended warranties are almost all profit. Everyone wouldn't be offering them if they weren't. I'll pay for repairs without stipulations and exclusions if they come about.

My father buys extended warranties on all of his trucks. Purchases them through his company so it does have write-off benefits. BUT, for a man who put himself through college repairing and selling wrecks in the 60s and 70s has no interest in/knowledge about fixing a modern vehicle.
With his Jeep (I know, I know...), he needed his water pump replaced at 90k plus about $3000 worth of other repairs. Paid for itself.
With the 4Runner, if something goes wrong with the 4wd (electronic servos, etc) Entune, CRAWL, ATRAC, or the plentiful other electronic systems that help drive the vehicle, it will pay for itself.
When I bought my 4th Gen, I paid for an extended warranty. Didn't know enough about the 4wd system so didn't put it through it's full workings. Turns out the center diff lock servo had frozen. Would have been $2700 down the drain. Instead, I paid a $300 deductible. The $1600 I spent on the warranty didn't look so bad then.
I now have an extended warranty on my Mazda, bought CPO. Hasn't needed it yet, but I can get refunded the pro-rated value if I sell. I drive nearly 20k per year, so my vehicle is very important to me doing my job properly.
Regardless of how bulletproof these vehicles are, always nice to have peace of mind if something DOES go wrong. Shop around, buy the damn thing, and be happy.

Hello all T4R members,
My guy has handed off his EX Warranty work to another guy at the dealership.
I would appreciate that when I send you the info to please let me know what they come back with so I can compare costs to previous deals.
Just want to make sure our members are getting the super good pricing that we have always received and I have no doubts the new guy will do just as good.
On another note, can a moderator combine the 2 warranty threads into one? I have been bouncing back and forth between both threads to try to keep up with the requests.
I would say that over the past 3 years it has been hundreds of members saving huge money...
, that's a lot to try to keep up with.
If not that's okay also but just thought it might clean up the forum a little bit.

Hi gamester5, could you please PM the warranty contact info? I have a 17 T4R TRD Pro, in cement, arriving in the coming weeks. Had the 8/125k platinum for my 13 FJ TT and loved the piece of mind, even though I never needed to use it lol. I paid $2,100 for that in 2012 and now know that I got taken. Much thanks!

Extended Warranty
Gamester: Thanks for your advice on the extended warranty but I simply had our dealer trade the unused part of the warranty on our '15 Wrangler onto the 4Runner, and paid the difference.
In any case, I would not feel secure having a warranty from another country, and I doubt you would either. I can think of safer ways to save money. Cheers, Ted

To anyone that I have recommended Extended Warrnaties to Earnhart Toyota please hold ANY considerations for purchasing.
They just jacked the prices WAYYYYYYY up and the new guy is not giving me the information I need.
I have an email into the General Manager and we will see what he says. If I get no results I am working on 2 other sources for EW's for our group.
So very sorry this has happened and I hope I can find a good solution going forward.

I got the 7/100 option through gamester's previous contact after confirming everything is OK for Canadian bought/owned VINs, allegedly.
Price was good, everything went through, took about 4 weeks to get the paperwork from Toyota itself (had already received the dealership invoice/receipt after about a week.)

Everything looks legit but it's for sure the US ECP plan paperwork, listed in miles. Supposedly valid at all North American dealers but the proof will be in the pudding.
Worst case is I time my visits to Niagara Falls CBI-USA to get service at a Buffalo dealership or something.

Thanks for for the heads up. I picked up my truck on November 4th! I love it. I'm shopping around for a lift kit right now. I have 285/70 17 duratracs(from old truck) I want to put on so I need a lift. I need to find a good shop for the install also.
