Extended Warranty? 2015 4Runner limited

Taking possession of my 17 TRD tomorrow! Really considering the extended since I bought private party and it has KDSS. Little piece of mind.

Fully agree. No need. I've got a 13 and since mine expired I haven't even thought twice about it. Until now. And will quickly forget. Part of the reason I bought this thing in the first place. Spend that $ to pay it off if not done yet.

Well, I'm off to a great start. The car is less than a day old and I just discovered that one of my window switches (front passenger) on the drivers side does not work and the passenger all weather floor mat has curling edges and looks crappy. Yes, it'll be covered under standard warranty but still...

I bought extended Toyota care for all of my four 4Runners. It comes handy. Buy it if you can afford and wants extra peace of mind.


(1) 1999 Limited - for Family

- used it when ECU, Fuel gauge, and AC Unit went bad over a period of 5 years. written off at 380,000 kms in an accident

(2) 2010 Limited - Wife still drives this and now at 215,000 kms

- used it only once when the front bearing went bad

(3) 2011Trail - traded for 19 at 220,000 kms

- never went bad so didn't get to use any extra warranty

(4) 2019 Pro

- just bought 200K/6years extra warranty. I drive at least 120Kms daily so heavy usage and planning to keep it

I'm going to be buying a 2019 Limited this week.

I plan to keep the car at least 10 years and do around 7000 miles a year so I thought a 10 year, 80000 warranty should be fine.

Is there any advantage to getting this when I buy of wait until closer to the end of the original factory warranty?

You can get the plan now or later, but like with anything, things could change and some of these great deals can dry up like what happened to my first contact. They DOUBLED the prices over night so I found another source. Was not easy and tons of searching but there are deals out there.

Well, I'm off to a great start. The car is less than a day old and I just discovered that one of my window switches (front passenger) on the drivers side does not work ..

Turns out this was just a programming glitch. The window was not linked to the switch in the TechStream programming. Something overlooked in the pre-delivery checks.

Hi Guys,

I recently bought a 2015 limited with 60k miles.The bought a warranty for5 years/60k miles through CNA for $4200. Do you think it will pay for itself overtime?

Also, how many of you who have bought extended warranty actually used it and how frequently?

I think that's outrageous expensive considering the reliably of 4Runners. Check here, there's a contact on this forum for extended warranties and hopefully you're within the grace period to get your $$ back on the extended warranty you purchased.

It's worth trying. I don't see why they wouldn't honor a EW in Canada, as far as I know it's a North American plan.

That's way too much. So the warranty covers you until 120,000 miles or 5 years from the date you purchased the runner? And who is CNA?

I am interested as well if you're still in the game. Picking up a 2020 tonight and was quoted $1994 for a 8year/100k mile warranty.
