At my dealership they include Lifetime free oil changes and a Lifetime Powertrain Warranty. The Lifetime Powertrain covers "Engine, Transmission, Transaxle, Transfer Case, and Drive Axle". There is a condition that all recommended service take place at the dealership and that all services occur within 1000 miles of the recommended interval. They will make an exception if you have an extenuating circumstance, are more than 250 miles from the dealership, and document the maintenance was completed within the 1000 mile window.
I guess what I'm looking at is extending the existing warranty on everything not covered by the Lifetime Powertrain, or getting the Toyota Platinum so that I can have service elsewhere and increasing the coverage to bumper to bumper for 8 years or so.
Any opinions on the extended Platinum Warranty still being needed if you have the Powertrain Warranty above?

When you get a chance, I'd be interested in know your information. I got a 2015 SR5 Premium this past Monday (7/3) with ~33k miles. They did add a 100,000 mile (7 year, I think) warranty, but I'd be interested to know your information in case it would be a better deal. Thanks!

I think it's way too much. Plus a $100 deductible? Your better off with a Toyota Care Platinum Zero Deductible in my opinion if your still within factory warranty....

Just purchased a 17 TRD OR Premium in Atlanta. Looking to buy a EW 10 year/100K mile. Dealership tells me that what they offer is "platinum" with $100 deductable an it is underwritten by Fidelity. What am I missing? How is this different from the warranty offered by Toyota with ZERO deductable for similar durations. The dealer was not really able to articulate the difference.
Any insight is much appreciated.
