extra $3-3500 unexpected shopping spree...?

so i know im gonna get budbilt skids and the lil skip tank skid, either shrockworks or metal tech sliders(metal tech would be preferred but it would be a prototype for them and not sure about timing and all -needs to be done before the middle of aug), tranny cooler and temp gauge set up, LBJ, 231s and a set of new good year MTRs 285 70 17... any other ideas on what i should get, oh and all my skids and sliders im having powder coated for $20(yes you read that right $20), so i will save some $$$ by buying them unfinished. anyhow can you guys think of anything else i should get... ive been thinking about pulling the trigger on a lift, and or a ARB, but if i do the ARB, im thinking ill have to go buy another winch, so thats $1000 at least right there, and with all that armor im not sure ill really need the lift right now, i could always wait on that till im working and save the rest. -or i could do what every one hates and just buy some spacers and call it good till i get a job? what do you guys think, help me spend my money or save it?

After adding the Budbuilts, sliders, a Lil skips' tank skid, and possibly an ARB w/winch, you might need a lift. That's about 400 lbs right there. You'll definitely loose some height with your stock coils.

Normally I think powdercoating skids and sliders is a bad idea. You can't really touch them up as you scrape them, but for $20 I can't blame you. I repainted mine and within 2 days I scraped them all up again, so powdercoating would never work for me. At least now I can hit it with some sand paper and a rattle can for a few minutes and it's like new again.

I think your list is pretty good. Another option with $3-3500 is to go get some gears and lockers, but I do think armor is more important to do 1st. Plus, you need the lift and bigger tires before you regear.

i have an ARB in the rear, so im locked there. yeah thats kinda what i was thinking, about with the bumper and winch up front, id need to lift it if i did that, i know i wouldnt get any more flex with a spacer lift, and it would kill whats left of my springs faster, but do you think like a 2" would be ok and get my buy(i have a wheeling trip this summer at the end of aug that im doing in nor cal, so im gonna see a lot of rocks but i will me the most capable rig going, every one else is stock and only on 31s or 32s... with out armor or lockers ect.

You got a pretty good list going on there right now. Normally I wouldn't tell someone to not spend their money on their Runner, but I would sit on it until you get a job. A little extra in the bank never hurts.

well i am err sorta, i am getting back pay and from deployment almost $7k, and then ill get getting some disability comp here soon hopefully, its been almost a year now sense i put in my claim and so hopefully it will be soon. but yeah im saving half of my check, and the other half im doing some upgrades, and really the LBJ, 231s and tranny cooler, are all falling into the preventative maintenance category so that wont be coming out of my spending money...

yeah im gonna get those OME springs on wednsday Ryan.

no lift, no cutting just some minor rub, its not bad, i hammered over the pinch weld at the back of the finder. the offset on the tundra rims and the fact that they are 17s i think helps with them not rubbing so bad ive wheeled them pretty good and been happy with my results:

The first thing i did to my rig was the lift and tires. In my opinion Skids and lift would be my first choice. You will be quite surprised what you can get through with just a locker and some skill.
A winch is a nice insurance policy for when you are out by yourself, but if you have others with you they can pull you out.
I have 2.5 inches of lift in the front and i clear 33's no problem. The larger tires will give you better clearance over rocks so you will be less likely to get hung up.
Like i said, I think you would get the most out of a lift and skids to start with, especially since you already have the locker in the rear.

just a small spot, you can hear one of the guys comment on it in the second vid at the very end... it wasnt bad only about 6-8" long and just in the rocker below the passenger rear door. but thats why i want the sliders now...

You got some great ideas but if it was me, I would save my money before investing in items that are not really a necessity at this time. When I was unemployed I save all I could until I landed another gig. You never know when you are going to need money for little things or even a vehicle repair. Just my 2 cents.
