Extra harness behind OH console - SR5?

Good evening gents, my apologies if this has been covered before but I did a bit of searching and didn't really find what I was looking for.

On the base SR5, if I were to pull the overhead console is there a harness for the power rear view mirror or some other unused harness with power (for accessories on higher end models) that I can tap into instead of running an add-a-fuse from the kick panel area all the way up to the headliner? I don't mind the add a fuse option but the overhead console harness is less work.

If it is somewhere here I would appreciate a link. Or even just a yes/no answer. I know on other hondas and toyotas ive owned the harness for some options are always there, even if unused.

Thanks!

Hi 1stTime4Runner,

I can provide the wiring diagrams for both the 4Runners, with and w/o rear-view cameras... but, you'll need to determine which one is relevant! If your truck has navi with a rear-view cam, then the rear-view mirror with or w/o the camera does not apply; follow(?)!

Now, if your truck does not have the rear-view camera, then choose the wiring diagram "with-out" a rear-view cam. Also, the driver-side fusebox should have (at least) one fuse labeled ECU-IG2 10A fuse to support the optional circuit... I'd consider this to be reason for optimism for the truck to be equipt with a full harness.

Even if the fuse is not there, there should be copper contacts inside the fuse slot (with 12V power supply); which may indicate that the harness for a power rear-view mirror option may be up there, you won't really know for sure until you take-a-peek inside that overhead console! If anyone could tell you off the top of their head, it would be Antman ; perhaps shoot him a PM and see what he says! Here are the wiring prints below:

"Without rear-view camera" Below

"With rear-view camera" Below

So before getting too far involved I would check to see if there's a ECU-IG1 10A fuse (or two) in the Driver-side fusebox... or see if there are copper contacts (with 12V power supply) in the fusebox, hope this will be helpful, 'Best to you',

What are you trying to add? You have to be sure whatever you're trying to wire in is not to much for that circuit.

Radar detector. Not sure if I want it up high or low near the dash. I have it at the dash now which is fine but I would like the wiring more hidden.

I did it on my civic with a add a circuit in an empty fuse slot but I had a lot of slack running over the dash. Running wiring up the pillar and tucking it into the headliner seems way easier.

Just be careful of the airbag in the A pillar. Make sure your wiring is behind it. In the event of a side impact, the airbag will whip that wire towards you at roughly 200 MPH, not something you want to experience.
