Extra Wire plug by Center speaker??

As I was taking my dash apart (to finally finish the OEM NAV install), I noticed a plug that wasn't plugged into anything. i originally had the JBL 6 changer, but I don't remember unplugging this one (2 years ago). It certainly doesn't plug into my NAV. Does anyone now what this plug is for?

Nah, when my NAV was installed, I made sure ALL speakers were working. Anyway, it's in place where it is, in another words, I can't pull it down toward me to get a better look at it. This 4 Pin connector does SOMETHING !?!

Yes, that 4 pin connector connects your center channel speaker as previously stated. I removed my speaker which is why I am 100% sure. If yours isn't connected, you could remove it to get more space and better air flow because nav systems kick out some heat.

Wow, thanks man! When I tested my all speakers, I THOUGHT I heard sound coming out of it, but unless you are 8 months old, you can't get your head on top of it to be 100% sure.

I try to find a use for it (b/c evidently, it doesn't connect to my NAV). I have YET to connect the Voice Nav, I may use this speaker. If not, I'm ripping it out.

EDIT: Why 4 pins? Isn't a speaker usually 2 pins (wires)??? wierd.....................

Pop tge speaker out, u might find there are 2 wires that go to pos and neg.

Not really sure why there are 4. The speaker has two wires a red and a black that go to the bottom two pins then they loop back up to the top two. Maybe it receives signal from both the left and right?

If you do decide to remove the center speaker, make sure you have an angled Phillips head ratcheting screw driver. There is a screw that is impossible to get out without one. Something like this is perfect:

There are 4 wires because the speakers are bridged into 2 wires, definitely looks like your center channel wire isn't hooked up. Man I miss having that hole in my dash, I fit a nice 3.5" Infinity speaker in my last 4Runner
