F+R 5100s or Just Front?

So I was looking at picking up front 5100s and rear (blue/yellow) FJ bilsteins for a good price (sub 200 for all 4). Do you guys think that would be ok, or should i just bite the bullet and spend the extra to get the 5100s all around? Would I notice a significant difference with the 5100 rears vs the fj Bilstein rears?

If you're going to lift the rear it would be best to get the rear 5100s. If you are staying at stock rear height, the fj bilsteins will do fine. If you do any off roading, the 5100s would be preferred but not required.

Thanks! Im not planning on lifting the rear, just the front to remove the rake (which I can do with the front 5100s) No real off roading, just looking for a better ride and reduced rake.

Outside of being new vs used shocks, I don't think you'll notice much difference at all, I'd use the fjs and the money saved can support other mods. I will note this though. I think you are looking at bilstein hd rear shocks, not OEM fj shocks. The fj bilsteins are silver/blue or red/blue. If they are the bilstein hds, they are identical to the 5100s only stock length.

ASR - thanks for the info, I got some pics from the seller and you are correct, he was incorrect. they are the Blue/silver ones as seen here:

front 5100s brand new, and rear silver/blue with 6k on them for 185 shipped to my door is what I'm looking at

Sounds like a deal to me, I think I paid that for just the front 5100's. What year FJ did the shocks come off of?

I've got my runner at my buddie's place who is doing my 90k maintenance, and he's just gonna throw everything on for me. I've just gotta find a decent set of rear FJ springs for a good price and I'll be in tip top shape!
