Factory Head Unit Swap

Is there a better factory head unit that can be swapped into the 3rd gen? I know the 4th gen has the Scion unit but I haven't found any luck with the 3rd gen. The factory one looks old and crappy. Not to mention the sound quality is lacking something to be desired.

I don't want to do an aftermarket because I leave my vehicle at a Park n Ride for work and have had too many break-ins. Doesn't matter if I have nothing of value (or literally nothing at all) or I take the face off.

I didn't have any luck searching but if somebody knows different I would appreciate a point in the right direction.

Scions fit 3rd gens

i installed one in my 00 Limited. Good sound improvement for sure and looks good. There are a couple of threads on here and yotatech with directions of different install options based on how much of the center console/bezel you want to remove in order for the HU to fit.
