Factory High Performance LED Fog Light Option ?

Can anyone shed any light (no pun intended) on the High Performance LED Light option from Toyota?

I see the option on the build page and read the details but I was curious if anyone has ordered them and your thoughts? For $170 I don't see a reason not to but was curious if anyone really compared the stock ones to these? Thanks!

not sure what option they offer. I know my 2021 came with LED fog lights. they were pretty weak. for $170 I would just spend a little more and get some Diode Dynamics fog lights, either the SS3 or the new elite series (great light pattern on these)
 
what do you plan on using your fog lights for? the factory fogs I've found are nothing special. you might notice a bit more throw and wider beam pattern with the LEDs but if you're comparing to a baja or DD it won't be as good

if you truly intend to use them as fogs in bad weather I would upgrade to a baja or DD amber fog. you can get street legal versions but the non street legal are going to give you the most visibility in bad conditions. I have the non street legal bajas in amber/yellow and there's no comparison to factory fog, LED or halogen

if you don't think you'd need a performance fog and just want something a little better/nicer than stock than ya the $170 option is fine. a set of baja or DD will probably be almost double that factory option

The new DD elites are like $220. That $50 premium is well worth it IMO. I have a set of the DD SS3s in my fogs and have even thought about swapping over. The color and beam pattern are so nice, and the backlighting is kind of cool.

This. Choice of new (8121048051 Genuine OEM Toyota Lexus RH Bumper LED Fog Light Lamp 81210-48051 for sale online | eBay) or used (Toyota 4Runner Highlander Tundra Tacoma Fog Light Black LED Kit Genuine OEM OE | eBay).

There are two versions of the OEM LED fogs: one is made in Japan, and the other is made in Mexico. Both the above are the Japan made fogs which are superior to the Mexico ones.

The high performance fogs will be better.

All those options, and the new standard LED fogs in the 4Runner, are reflector style.

The high performance fogs are projector which do a better job.

If you truly want a higher performance fog light for your vehicle, the Toyota High Performance LEDs aren't bad, but there are better options out there. (And this is coming from a very big fan of OEM Toyota parts.) There are also far worse options out there, but we won't go there. For the most exhaustive, instrumented, data driven review of most of the available options, I'd recommend this thread:

One thing I should make clear though is that the above thread addresses "fog" beam / pattern lights, not driving, flood, cornering pattern etc. A true fog beam has a well-defined, flat horizontal beam that fills the area directly in front of the vehicle and well out to the sides. They're designed to allow safe travel in inclement weather by cutting through rain and fog as well as illuminating the sides of the road, so you know where you're going. That said, they don't project very far in front of the vehicle - by design. If by "high performance" you mean something that illuminates significantly further down the road, you may want to consider a different beam pattern.

Not quite true. The PT41342191 you cite are the ones made in Mexico and have had reliability issues. Buyer Alert: Toyota Black LED Fog Lights PT413-42191 | Toyota Tundra Forum

I have a set of each: the Japan made ones in my 4Runner (reflector), and the Mexico (projector) made ones in my RAV4. To my untrained eyes, they have the same light output.
