Factory JBL is weak

I thought the JBL system with 8 speakers was supposed to have 180 watts of power. Where is it all hiding? With the volume maxed out it sounds 1/2 as good as my 98 Suburban. I don't crank it up very often but when I do , I'd like to hear a clean clear crisp concert hall. It sounds like 1/2 the sound is missing and the front 1/2 has way too much with the fader centered. Has anybody else had this problem? if so How is it corrected?
