Factory OEM Dunlop

I had the pirellis put on last Friday (black letters out) and apart from a leaky valve that led to a return trip yesterday they are fine. Some comments comparing them to my old (40K miles) Dunlops:

1. They are marginally noisier than the Dunlops, but the change is barely noticeable and overall they're amazingly quiet for an AT tire.
2. There's slightly less body roll around corners, which suggests the sidewalls are stiffer than the Dunlops.
3. More bumps are picked up from the road (no surprise for a stiffer tire) but overall there is more "damping" of rough road surfaces. In other words bumps that are picked up are less jarring. Again, not a great surprise considering the Dunlops were old and the compound had probably hardened over the years.
4. Grip seems fine but I haven't really tested them. No rain here and I've only put 100 miles on them.
5. Tracking is improved from the Dunlops. There's less steering wander and steering feel has improved slightly.
6. No problems with balancing. In fact, less weight was needed to balance the tires, overall, compared to my Dunlops and the steering is smooth as can be.

Scorpion ATR update

still love these tires. Mileage on the computer went from 21.9 to 20.0. no worries.....waiting for rain snow. NE THING

Here's a tire update...

Got four Yokohama Geolander ATS's put on, high speed balance, the best that Discount Tire has to offer, they priced them right and gave me fifty bucks each for the Dunlops.

Well.....

After two plus weeks with the tires, both of the two front tires came with a radial pull.

Both!

Discount was a-ok as I've been going there for years and Yokohama has a full thirty day guarantee.

I'm putting on the Michelin Cross Terrains for only $103.00 more than the Geolanders.

Michelins... proven!
