Factoryride's Second Attempt Thread

Took a last second trip up to Windrock OHV this past weekend, and here are a few pictures. Mostly poser stuff, and not a whole lot of wheeling pics. Actually we didn't even get in too much wheeling.

We did manage to have a driveshaft decide to sit itself down on some rocks. We pulled it, and had planned to limp it home in 4HI worst case scenario. Thankfully our local Atlanta 4runner group is as great as it is. We had a guy drive up that night with his car hauler to tow the Taco home.

FactoryRide, I am in awe with your 4Runner. The mods look amazing! Looks like you are enjoying her plenty! Good job! :)
 
I'm seriously curious as to how big of a difference it felt wheeling around back when you only had a spacer lift compared to your BOSS lift? Was it terrible and sketchy with the spacers? Love the build. It's come a long ways and it looks so mean!

Sorry, I've been away from the forum for a little while. The difference was pretty night and day, but I wouldn't say it was terrible and sketchy with the spacers. It just couldn't handle the weight that I carry around in the back with me when I'm out camping/wheeling.

Another thing to note, is that my rear OEM shocks were blown when I took them off, so that played a factor in the ride quality.

What's up Andrew? Hope all is well. Y'all have any Windrock trips planned for this year? Pretty sure I'll be there for GSMTR and SETO, and a few other times in between.

After I get my busted truck back to wheeling shape anyways.
 
It's been a while since I've really updated this thread, but here's a few pics from the last 6 months or so.

I finally got around to adding 315, 4.88 gears, and a winch.

I bought my chunks from ECGS and did the work with the help of [MENTION=632]toyo[/MENTION] 's help and car lift.

I loved reading through your build thread! I saw your truck in Ellijay while I was up on a mountain biking trip a while back, but I could never find out whose it was.
How is Adventure Offroad Park? I've been up to Windrock once but I won't go back until I can camp overnight, wheel one day, and ride the downhill park the other. I usually go to Choccolocco Offroad Park in Alabama. If you haven't been there, I'd recommend checking it out!

Hey man, you must have saw me when I was parked on the square up there not too long ago.

AOP is great, but a good bit more difficult then everywhere I've been. Their blue trails are more difficult then several of the blacks I've done at Windrock. It definitely beat up my truck a good bit.

I used to want to ride their DH trail at Windrock, but haven't been on my bike in almost 5 years. I'm too fat and out of shape for it now.

I have not been Choco yet, but I have been meaning to get out there sometime soon. Maybe once I get my truck back together and ready for some more wheeling.

Hey man, thanks! It'll be a light wheeling season for me, #2 should be born second week of July. Might try to make it back out there later in the fall either for one of the larger events or a smaller ride. Life's crazy.

And I hear you on getting back into wheeling shape. I've got my own nice little to-do list that might get knocked out eventually lol.

I completely understand that man. Congrats on the new addition to the family!! Give me shout if you get back out there!

And yeah dude, it's the more unfortunate part of wheeling. I've got a few cam tabs that got broken off at AOP. So while I've got that torn apart, I'm doing TC cam tab gussets, TC spindle gussets, new bushings and uniballs for my UCAs, fresh LCAs, and what ever little odds and ends I find.

Impressive. Mine isn't quite that intensive - just need some new rear springs to support the weight of the bumper and to install my snorkel (I went with the Prado 150 over Safari because I'm cheap and I like how sleek it is) whenever it arrives.
