Fadiddy's 5VZFE Build

Its sealer

Thank you sir!

That's exactly what my engine looks like...not.

Looking good!

Hehe...thanks bud. I hope all this "pretty paint" holds up.

Just replaced the water bypass pipe on mine about a month ago. It uses the black FIPG material. There is a small grove on the pipe mating surface for the sealant.

Thank you!

And don’t forget an oil filter

Hopefully not, lol.

Got my fuel injectors fully cleaned and tested. If anyone wants a good shop that does this, give Fred a call at Rosch Fuel Injection Cleaning. Excellent service and quick turn around. He cleaned all injectors, replaced all o-rings, replaced all filters inside the injectors, and tested spray pattern and coils. Excellent service for a great price!

Here are some more pics of the fuel rail and injectors installed:

She is ready to go back in fella's....about damn time right? Lol.

I ordered some new bolts for the flexplate, but should be ready to go in tomorrow. Here is the engine all prepped up to be installed:

Also found a fantastic transmission cooler from the junkyard off of a VW Toureg that fit really nicely in the front. Win!:

Hey just a heads up I’m sure the fipg is fine for that coolant inlet but it does take a gasket. During my timing belt job I replaced my inlet & outlet due to excessive corrosion on the aluminum and looked high and low for that gasket. Here is the part number if you want it 1634162040 also here is a link for the breakdown showing the gasket RADIATOR & WATER OUTLET | 4RUNNER VZN185L-GKPGK KZN185,RZN18#,VZN18# | Toyota | Genuine Parts Catalogs | PartSouq Auto Parts Around the World

Yep, I got a gasket for it and put fipg on both sides. Actually put fipg on most of the gaskets on this motor, even if Toyota doesn’t call for it. I’ve done this on previous 2JZ builds and have never had leaks.

Engine finally in...

The transmission seems to lineup and I was able to get two bolts on the bottom of the bellhousing in. However, can someone please tell me how the hell one is suppose to reach the top bolts of the transmission bellhousing to tighten them???

Maybe check out the transmission install on Timmy the toolmans YouTube. Figure they had to remove and install those same bolts..

Sorry for the late response but i had decent luck from the bottom side with 3-4 1/2” extensions and a swivel. I just called and spoke to your fuel injector guy and ill be sending my extra set of injectors to him soon. Thank you

What I mostly do on the 4wd [ not sure if you are 2wd or 4wd ]ones is lighty snug the bottom bolts on the bell housing along with all the ones you can reach. Then I let the transmission down some so I can use long extensions to get to the top ones.

Those 2 Top ones can be tough. But if the transmission is on the pins and most of the easy reaching bolts are all in. You can get enough room to get them finger tighten then tighten them all. Torque your top 2 then torque the rest. Put the transmission back to level to get your transmission bracket back on bolt to transmission and frame.

Yep, got the bolts on finally.

However, I gotta put the car up for sale...moving to AZ soon and cannot take all three cars, including an FJ40 roller.
