Fading, Hazy Hood Paint: wrap or plastidip?

Think I'm gonna go satin or matte black to keep the glare to a minimum.

Either wrap or plastidip if done right are reversible, non damaging - but which is more durable, easier to install and touch up if rock chipped?

Looking for opinions, and experiences, please

Wrap cannot be touched up life span is short on flat surfaces.
Plastidip can be touched up removed if you want with the required elbow grease and stripper.
I bought a used plastidipped sport hood stripping was a PITA (pain in the ass).
Have you considered respraying clearcoat not hard or expensive to do get to keep that IJM color.

My 2010 is dented and banged up on every body panel from foresting. I saw someone spray theirs with a textured rhino liner type coating. Anyone know about this or done it.

I have a few paint samples from Monstraliner (Monstaliner do-it-yourself roll-on truck bed liner outperforms Herculiner Bed Liner, Duplicolor and Rustoleum Road Warrior) and they have a green that's close to my Jade Mica green

A few have done it, and I've seen it on trucks in the wild, it's a commitment, and a cost, I'm not ready for yet.

I'd like to know as well. I have exploding white clear-coat failure all over hood and above windshield. It doesn't really bother be until I am washing the truck and it's briefly all-green again and I start to dream...........a sanding(?) and repaint and clear coat seems like a lot of work even though I have cans of both code-correct paints on hand.

Not a paint guy either didnt have compressor with enough CFM.
96Red looked like car he did on hood and roof I followed same procedure using spray cans.
Sure I had to sand orange peel a sag or 3 wasn't perfect in the end just 100% better.
Couldn't get spray bombs local used second link.

Don't know where you live, but wrap has a limited life span in hot climates. Direct sunlight will not only discolour car wrap but also cause yellowing, shrinkage and cracking.

Sean of Timmy the toolman and Sean [MENTION=102606]infamousRNR[/MENTION] has done it on one of his 4runners. It looks great, got a done at a shop in SF (owner also has a 3rd gen).

Yeah some heat and sound insulation, but also fire retardant IIRC.

After watching that video ,twice, I might actually take a shot at some of the paint repair projects on my four-wheel drive, as well as cleaning, clay blocking and reclearing the hood.

My comment on hood and engine heat - insulator or not it shortens life of wrap what I was told by shop.
Dig into spraying technique practice with cheap stuff on masking paper what I did.
Claying worth the effort I do my glass also no more water stains. Using clay bars been around forever can be a PITA, I started using Speed Clay 2.0
– Mothers(R) Polish when it came out way easier, so I do it more often. Trail stripes easier to deal with.

I did a a carbon fiber hood wrapped in black (Southern California, like octanejunkie) and it only lasted a few years - genuine 3M 1080, too. Easy to re-apply, though I haven't gone through the pain of removing the old stuff yet. It was a stopgap before restoring the carbon fiber finish with a ton of effort and clear coat...

My brother repaired the faded clear coat on his truck by just sanding the damaged areas and spraying with 2k clear coat. Don't use 1k as it will not have the same sheen as the stock clear coat.
