Falken Wildpeak RT

Looks like a nice RT option, I'd imagine it will be quite good in wet weather like the AT3Ws as far as RTs are concerned.

Another option coming out, Toyo RT Trail: The Open Country R/T Trail is an On/Off-Road Rugged Terrain Tire. | Toyo Tires
Apparently, it sits between the AT3 and the RT.

That looks like a nice tire. At first I was confused because I thought they had an RT, but this is a different RT in the line up. Winter traction looks good! Hopefully they come out with a skinny option. I would love to see more options when I have to get tires next year.

I was in the other boat and enjoyed my AT3W's. This might be a great option once my Terra Grapplers wear down.

I have to replace 2 tires due to tread chunking. My buddy has replaced 3 tires due to the same issue. I don't know if it was a bad batch or what, but wasn't too happy about that. Luckily the Discount Tire Tire Cert program replaced them for cheap. But still a hassle.

I'm personally very happy with my wildpeak ATs and they've been through hell, so i'm surprised to hear about your issues.

I do want to ask, because its something that I've seen a lot of in various forums, but Discount tire seems to the be source of a lot of complaints about tires from our American friends. Is this just a coincidence or is Discount Tire a known lower quality tire and/or workmanship?

I do like the tread pattern and the style of the Falken RTs you linked. I'd really like to go with a MT tire on my next set, but being from Alberta, i'd have to run a set of dedicated winters if i did that. My preference is to stay with an all around AT tire, so maybe this new RT would be a consideration.

Discount Tire is just a chain tire store, so I don't think they would have effect on tire quality. I love Discount Tire, they offer free life time balance and rotation. You can also buy "Tire Certs" and they will replace your tire no questions asked for a deductible...I think it is like $40 now. So I replaced almost $600 worth of tires for $80.

I really like the tread design of the RT's. I am hoping for some tall skinnies out of them since they already have 255/80 in the AT3W's. I was hoping to jump up in size but this might make me stay with that tire size.
