Fan blower on when off ?

I have a '08 4Runner SR5

Maybe I just never noticed this before, so straighten me out ...


All the speeds on my fan blower work just fine, and the symbols for each fan speed show up on the display, as does the time / temp ...

With the fan off - it the display shows its off

BUT

I still feel something coming out of the vents ... if I turn the fan back on and adjust the temperature, then turn everything back off again, the temp of the air coming out of the vents changes ....

Is there an open vent switch somewhere that I'm not familiar with ?

One more bit of info for this puzzle ... when the fan switch is OFF ... the light is off on the fan switch side ...

but the light is still on the A/C / Auto side, and the direction of flow side


What am I missing here ?

Mine is the exact same way. I think it's just a way to keep air circulating, but it's not tempered from what I can tell. I'm pretty sure it's just fresh air.

Pretty sure that's just air coming through the vents from outside unless you have it on recirc

Air being forced in through the vents while driving. Stop the car, and the air will stop flowing in. Open the rear window while driving, for example, and the air coming in should be even stronger, as your are supplying a large exit under low pressure. Most cars do this, unless recirculate is selected.
