Fancy UCA's -- Worth it?

Found out today (after failing my inspection, no less) that my passenger UCA is bent and rubbing against my front coils :redbrick: at full droop. Something tells me that I should just go OEM in replacing these parts, but they seem like essential suspension components and worth spending money to keep them working properly. Should I replace both UCA's with OEM or just replace one with an OEM or should I splurge on Light Racing or TC UCA's?

KellyJ- I run the All-Pro UCA's and have been very happy with them. They I believe are the least expensive of the aftermarket ones available and worth the investment. It is a personal decision that each has to make wether they want an OEM piece or aftermarket. I do still have my factory control arms that I took off when I went with the All-pro's two years ago if you are interested.

Did they tell you that its bent or is it actually bent? They didnt fail your inspection because of that, did they? My control arms arent bent and they hit the coils on full droop, too, its not a big deal really.

Bent??? How did you manage that? Those things are pretty beefy. any pics? I'm thinking they are just at an angle because of the lift.

I'm running the LR upper control arms and they are awesome. The upper ball joint angle is so much better now.

If you wanna stick OEM pm glenyoshida. He has 2 pairs of OEM laying around, and I'm sure he'd sell you a set.

Wow!

I'll snap some pictures tomorrow. I was wondering what was clunking in the front right and apparently it ended up being the UCA rubbing on the coil. When the tire was still on the hub, the alignment was so thrown off from the minor accident I had a couple months ago that the tire wouldn't spin freely as it was also rubbing against the UCA. Thanks for the input though, if I can find the right price for aftermarket ones I'll go that route. Otherwise I'll probably swap an OEM one in and All Pro UCA's might be the next part to replace.

If its not actually bent you could always just clearance the stock uca's, thats what i did so i could run my 285's w/o buying spacers and without spending a bunch of coin on aftermarket ucas, heres some pics. Havent had any issues with them so far and i got a good 1/2" more clearance between the tire and uca then i did have before.

This is a before pic, but after i had already grinded on it some the first day so i could drive it.

Big John he is talking about upper control arms(a-arms) that he bent and if you look at one of his posts he mentioned it was in a minor accident in the right front. In the rear we have 4 link so those are link arms(or control links) in the rear although several people still call them control arms.

Haha! that's where I got confused. UCA is still and A arm to me so I guess I'd better get up to speed.

I have a question , i just had my toytec lift installed and it looks like the "boot" on the uca is torn on both sides. it has some sort of grease coming out of it. I never noticed a tear on it before. What part is this? Its on the UCA, tat rubber part right under where he cut out.
