That last set is incredible, especially the B&W shot.
She's just a babyThe Rig also rolled over 105K on the way up...
Hey Farmerjohn I really really want to get into spelunking, can you get me started? That looks like a great cave, sure would like to check it out! Man these pics are beyond amazing, you should arrange a trail run for us, I would definitely come up for that!op2:

The story is that in order to reach the previous three photos (before the photo of the hillside), I had to go through the above section of two tracks, in particular, the lowest part on the hill, the part furthest to the right. Now this two track was meant either for a dirtbike or an ATV, NOT a 4Runner. After I got through it, I realized how tilted it was, and I was in trouble. Because of the way the tracks went, the truck was tilted big time towards the bottom of the hill, and it wasn't helping that the tracks didn't line up. In attempting to drive higher to allow myself room to stay on the lower track, it just made the truck tilt more (as it tried to scale the hillside) and the rear tires started spinning and pulling my backend downhill. I spun some more, thinking I was in 4WD, but I wasn't... I popped it back into 4WD and with the help of a brother acting as a spotter, I got through...
Did the same reverse thing on the way out as well, it was easily the hairest/scariest moment I've had wheeling in this rig so far... At least I got some awesome photos out of it! I'm pretty sure this is one of the few full size vehicles to make it through there (dead end too!)...
Thanks for reading! Feedback on photos always welcome!
Great photos as usual dude. I always love seeing epic shots of mountains... they are always gorgeous but yet so unique to each location or part of the world. Damn I love the outdoors, and these pics make me want to get outside and explore myself. Awesome.
Regarding your "tippy" spot, I know how it feels! It's funny how you gets used to it though. I remember this one section of a particular trail when I first started offroading - it felt SUPER tippy and I was scared ****less for the first entire season I was offroading. Now, with more trail time under my belt, much more experience in the "tippy" sections, better vehicle control and driving skill (something I always try to focus on and improve), the odd door ding (hahaha er' replaced door?) and body damage, that particular section doesn't even raise a hair on my neck anymore. Maybe familiarity but I really find myself more comfortable now at tippy angles that before would make me sweat. I guess just learning the limits of your vehicle is so important, knowing that fine-line of what can and cannot be done.
Not trying to take away from your story at all, it just reminded me of some of my experiences and I thought I would cloud your thread with some un-necessary verbage. Thanks for sharing, this is the stuff I love to read on here... other people's accounts of adventure.
Cheers Jonathan!
Yah the 3rd gens are pretty capable rigs for sure and a good driver makes them even more so. I honestly think the 3rd gen in a relatively mild build state ranks up there as one of the most capable toyotas. I'm not talking Sas'd, dual case, rigs or buggies or anything. But like Tacoma, other gen 4Runners, FJ's, and even some of the LC's, I find the 4Runner width, length, wheel base, and mad articulating rear suspension really put it high on the list of capable Toyotas.
Adventures are adventures no matter where you live, it's just the point of getting out and enjoying yourself. Although I do not live in BC, I'm pretty close. I'm about 1.5 hours east of the BC border. Most of the wheeling pics you see are actually just on the mountain range that borders Alberta and BC, and I'm usually on the Alberta side.
Anyways, keep it up.
Awesome video! You guys have some incredible scenery up there. I like the music choice as well. Do you know what camera he was using?
I appreciate the work you and your brother put into this video presentation. I really enjoyed watching it.:thumb:
Thanks blcktpgsr! I really want to come up your way one of these days! It's on my list!![]()
