Faulty ARB EZ Deflator?

Hello All!

I'm need some help determining if my ARB EZ deflator is faulty. I have followed the instructions but can't seem to get an accurate reading. With it screwed on and valve core removed, I can hear/feel air leaking out around the Valve stem handle. Definitely sure its not coming from the slider valve. Also the Valve core handle seems pretty lose/I can wiggle it a bit

Am I doing something wrong here?

I use the same one. One thing with these is you need to be pushing forward on the slide valve when screwing onto the valve stem and also while unscrewing the valve core. If this isn’t done and you go to pull the slide valve back to release air, you’ll hear air escaping but it’s not much and this could be what’s happening.

Another mistake could be not removing the valve core all the way. It will still release air but like the slide valve scenario above, it won’t be releasing as much as it should.

Darn I tried this and its still letting out air/Not getting an accurate reading :( Time for an exchange!

Once threaded onto the valve stem, push #4 all the way forward until it stops. Turn the #4 valve core handle left while still pushing forward. You need the teeth of #4 to bite the valve core, you'll feel a click some times. Then keep turning left, more times then you think. Pull back on #4 to let air out, push into get pressure reading. Like I said keep turning left, it's sometimes more turns then you think- you'll know when you got the core out when you pull back as it will let out a big blast, not leak.

Alright so I tried doing this and got a much better reading. However, I can still hear air releasing for quite some time. is this normal?
