Would you have a photos of how the Spats are attached? Stifler was kind enough to send me free spats but I'm not sure how to install them correctly. According to the diagram I have there is only one screw on each side that holds them, it just does'nt seem right. Any help is appreciated.

There's two square nylon inserts that go into the square holes on the body, then you just screw the two screws into the inserts, I think it was a 10mm socket, but don't quote me on that one. It's really simple once you are under there and looking at it, trust me

I'm with [MENTION=66316]1engineer[/MENTION] on this one, I think it does something...maybe like block dirt from flying up and collecting in this pocket in front of the rear wheel well.
If you think about it, when dirt and rocks fly up and hit a spinning tire driving forward, the spinning tire will fling that crap right back at that spot. With that said, mine are long gone, no way to make it fit with the sliders on, lol.

I know the talk has been about the rear ones which I don't have? My question is about the front ones. There were (2) little mud flaps under the front tires not full size just little hafe ones. Once bigger tires were installed the drivers side was rubbing so I removed while on a trip both sides. 1 bolt and 2 plastic snaps per flap and they where off. Stopped the rubbing problem.
I guess they were just a little mud flap to keep debris in that small place from being thrown under the body of 4 runner? Anyways what puzzled me was that only the drivers side that was rubbing? Was or is this do to the drivers side have more weight than the passenger side?

Calm down buddy, I don't think its a government conspiracy. Did you read to the end where it says it's only ~25 bucks more per piece than a regular one? Doubt that's going to break the bank even if this was going to be a federally mandated required accessory, lol.
It actually seems like a good idea if it works...IMO if anyone need's better fuel efficiency it's someone who makes a living by driving

My truck has some sort of a plastic piece inside the square holes. It does not have the white inserts or the screws. It seems that these Spats aren’t meant to go on the 2013. I know what you’re going to say “That’s because they don’t do squat, dummy”. I think if they did absolutely nothing in the first place Toyota would not have spent the extra few bucks just to have them on. There has to be another reason why. From what I’ve seen the models (2012, 2013) that have small mud flaps behind the front wheels don’t have the rear Spats and vise versa. Can someone confirm this?
