Faye Hadley

For those that don’t know her Faye Hadley is an American automotive technician, teacher, and entrepreneur. She is the cast member of a female-oriented television show, All Girls Garage. She is also the owner of Piston & PixieDust (mobile automotive repair and education by women, for women). She has also founded an organization of tradeswomen, #WomanAndMachine.

The reason why I’m posting about her is because she’s a relative new owner of. 3rd gen 4Runner. She has posted a punch of videos on her YouTube channel of why she bought one, where, and what she has done to it so far. Makes for good viewing.

I’ve watched her on YouTube for last year and change. When she bought the 4runner and was getting parts for it at the pick n pull.

Love her solo filmed in a garage YouTube stuff.
Didn’t care much for the tv show stuff. Just doesn’t have the same charm and personality.

Thank you for your views! And I really appreciate hearing the positive feedback about my channel. I work really hard on them. With the TV show, I am still sort of finding my way. I still get so nervous every time I am there, I feel like I haven't quite been able to settle in and just be myself in front of all of the cameras quite yet... but all in due time.

I do agree though, I feel like the videos filmed in m small shop on my old cell phone are a lot more intimate.

This would be the best opportunity ever to thank you for the t-belt video where you gave out the shop secret to getting to those PIA bolts that hold the tensioner on! That single trick literally saved me hours of frustration.

A kindred sprit, wrenches on 4Runners and Supras :wave: Faye if you're ever in NJ you'll love my buddy's shop, has a very good rep in the Northeast Supra community, outgrew working out of his home garage and now rents a large garage. MkIII/MKIV/Lexus SC 7M,1JZ,2JZ he does it all...I'm helping him out with engine stuff while I'm off.

I have a really simple one going up Monday, and am currently working on getting the network to allow me to bring my 4Runner onto the show to do a 3" lift... I think it would be really fun! *fingers crossed*

Oh my gosh, I am so glad!! I remember the first time I did that job at the dealership, I was just following the book, removed the AC compressor and bracket, etc. and it took so long.... the second time, one of the master techs was kind enough to share his knowledge with me and show me that trick, putting electrical tape on the wobbly socket and keeping everything in place - it reeeeally helped me beat the flat rate system on that job for sure! I am so grateful to him for that!

Thank you so much! That was one of the most highly requested videos I have ever had.

I think it is so important for folks to be able to do that themselves, because at one of the dealerships I worked at, the techs - even my team lead - would just drain the pan once, measure it, put it back in and send the vehicle on its way.... ONE DRAIN AND FILL!! Soooo unfair to the customer.

Having the ability to do it yourself and drain and fill multiple times really gets the job done.
