Fender Flares

Pic of the FRONT: The fenders attatched to where the fender liners attatch so there are no "holes". I reused the stock bolts to mount the new mudflaps.

Pic of the REAR: 6 small square holes only on the bottom side of the body + 3 6mm? holes in the bumper. I mounted the new mudflaps to the existing holes using new hardware. There is the one little hole under the last rear body mount that was there and not being used also in the pick.

There were NO holes in the door or anywhere else. The rear door piece was held on by clips that came off and then I polished where they were. I had no cladding like the guy that LineX'd.

I think they can color match LineX too. I am going to check into that for mine. I really like how that guy did his like that.

Im pretty sure they can color match the line x too. I think Im going to do black though, then just paint the rest of the body black. Someday... when I have the money.

Looking for flares for 974runner

Im looking for fender flares for my 97 4runner. Anyone have any ideas where i can find sum??

Sorry, I havent been on. Ill take some pics and get them up.

It is weird because mine never had the side cladding like I see some with. Mine only had the flares and running boards like your 02 sport.

So I think my pics should apply for you. Ill post those pics after I get home tonight.

Only the Limiteds have the cladding on the side. The 00+ Highlanders have the larger painted flares and they were an option on the SR5 but they still won't have cladding.

Judging by the pictures provided by DavidAlexander it looks as though the only 4Runners with holes in the actual body are the Limiteds. The larger painted SR5 upgrade flares appear to mount the same way that the smaller black flares do.

I agree with most that the wider painted flares aren't the best for offroading but I'm not too worried about them getting scratched up. Once they start actually getting jarred and falling off, I will look into doing basically what vermejo did.

Ditto- if your flares are in good shape and not loose or falling off I would keep them on, their positives outway their negatives.

They help alot on days when your throwing up slush in spring and most other driving applications.

Its when they start getting jarred and damaging the mounting points they should be taken off to prevent the mounting points from rusting out.

2008 wheel flairs

I see a lot of talk about taking wheel flairs off. I actually want to replace a damaged left rear factory flair on my 08 4runner. I am struggling finding the part besides the Toyota Dealer. Any help on where to buy will be much appreciated.

Junk yard, especially a u-pull-it type. Or check car-part.com
