Go ahead, break them. Better yet, cut them. Then buy new ones and replace. The fasteners are cheap, and it is impossible to address them effectively in order to remove them for reuse. They muck up an easy repair. They should be available at your flaps.
Next, put in a toggle switch on the lower left side of your dash, and wire into the antenna so that it does not raise/lower with every turn of the key. Deploy it when you need it.

If so they are almost impossible to get out without breaking them. I ordered a similar set (from China) that worked fine. The ones in this listing are in the US (maybe, never know with Ebay)
