fiberglass to fix a grill?

Hi all,

The grill on my 99 has a lot of cracks from one of the previous owners. They are not that visible, but, the grill has lost some of its rigidity. I want to know can I use fiberglass to add some strength back to it? I was also thinking about painting it black to match my bumpers.
