Thanks Bigfish and Dagobah! I'm anxious to see how it runs with the new intake tube in as well! Unfortunately, still waiting for my injectors to come in, and install them..so it will most likely be a good week before I install it all on the truck...

Ok, so I went a different route....kinda:

After adding what I found to be enough base coat, and a couple of coats of clear, I decided to mask out the area I wanted to put the emblem on.

As you can see....I decided to go with the TRD logo (really want to keep it within theme)

Unfortunately, upon pulling up on the tape...the paint lifted off the tube!!!

After getting a little upset, my wife suggested I simply cut out one of the paper emblems, and use it as a stencil, and then hand paint the TRD logo. I decided to give it a try, and traced it out with a sharpie. After tracing it out, I decided, instead of red...I'd go with black, and instead of Black paint, I'd just fill in my stenciled logo with the Sharpie!

I think I like it! It's not too flashy, kinda understated, but definately not stock! A lot like my truck!

I'm gonna spray a couple of coats of clear on that bad boy and call it a day!

I like it fightman. I always like your creativity. I had the same idea as you - to cut out the center and splice in a straight tube - I just dont have the tools to do much custom work unfortunately. But nice job on that! I think your original idea or red for the TRD would be cool too

Just a tip for anyone wanting to tape off certain areas...use blue or green painters tape. It's not quite as tacky as the cream tape. I've learned this after many times having to repaint because the tape peeled off paint.

Thanks for checking out my thread and for the comments guys! As much as I like modding my truck, my way, it's nice to get feedback from my peers!

I'd like to also add that green or blue painters tape is definately the best choice for paint work....for some reason though...the paint just didn't want to work with me that day! lol!

Ya it happens that way sometimes. I was a fine art (painting) major in college, and I went through probably 100 rolls of painters tape. I learned what works best real fast! Yours turned out real nice though, great job.

Looks good Fightman. As far as what was mentioned about the inside rusting, clean it real well with a Brillo pad then polish the inside with something like one of those Mother's cones. Nice and slick and rust free.

Like I said, I'm not having any delusions of HP or MPG gains, I just think it will clean up that side of the engine compartment, AND have a little custom touch of my own under there.

On a side note: Including the 3" tubing I got for free from my buddy, this mod cost me less than $5.00 to do!

Look what the post office gave me!!!

I found all 6 on Ebay for around $195.00! The cheapest I could find around town was $190.00 for 1!

I'm planning on putting these babies in on Saturday....can't freakin wait! I'm itching to take my truck out for a spin...she's been sitting in my driveway for far too long!!!

hey fightman! glad to see you got those injectors in im thinking about getting that same set on ebay, did u get them flow tested or whatever? anyways my truck has been down and out for a while too, so i know how you feel. im going to order my injectors and the intake plenum gaskets tommorow.

Honda....I didn't flow test them myself....Pitbull.....I am up and RUNNING!!

Here's some pics of the intall. I won't bother doing a write-up...as there are already good threads on this.

All buttoned up...and ready for a cruise!

Bottom line, my buddy proved instrumental again...as I was a little apprehensive doing this on my own. Together, we got the job done within a few hours....but that was with breaks to warm up in the house! It's darn cold outside at -27 degrees Celsius! We used my garage, but it's not heated or insulated....so pretty chilly!

I'm planning on taking it out tomorrow for some more driving....hopefully get some poser pics for ya'll!

Yeah..it was not pleasant! lol! Weatherman is calling for warmer weather tomorrow....so hoping to have a better day to play outside!
