A Long A$$ day!

So today, I figured I'd get some sun, and spend the entire day outside! First thing I did, was not outside.. lol! It did involve going to the garage, and installing the new extended rear stabilizer links I bought!

I got these babies on E-bay, they are made for a 2nd Generation 4Runner. I coupled them with some Polyurethane bushings, I had from the kit I ordered off E-bay.

Look at the difference in length!

First thing I did was remove my old ones. That didn't quite go as planned as they were a little rusty, and I couldn't get a socket to work on them. However, his was only a small problem, as my trusty Angle Grinder made quick work of the old links!

After doing the links, I decided to get some brownie points from the wife, and build her a flower box to surround the back yard. After a long day of digging, and prepping the soil, and then measuring, cutting, and screwing everything together, I got this:

The wife was so happy I did this for her, she even gave my "Other Woman" a bath!

All in all, a great day! Off to sleep soon, I've got 1st Aid training in the AM, and have to get up really early to do so!

Great work! You have been so busy with this truck lately, its very Entertaining to watch all this work get done.

Way to keep the wife happy too. Thats always a good move, lol.

Thanks dude! It's been fun working on my rig! I've been off work since January, living off the Health Severance package my previous employer has been paying me. With minimum travelling into the city, and penny pinching in other areas, I've been banking a ton of money! With all that time at home, I've been keeping rather busy working on my wife's car, my 4Runner, and other little projects. I think I'm probably the hardest working Unemployed person I know! lol!

Those look nice, I hear ya with kids stealing them though. I lost multiple sets off of my civics.

Used to do that when I was 10. My bicycle always had new step caps.

Yeah.. no such luck! I've gone through some preliminary interviews with a major mining company here locally, who is looking for Security officers / Emergency Medical First Responders. Doing my medical training right now, in hopes of getting snatched up for the gig!

yeah, I've been pretty busy around the yard lately!

First thing I did after building the flower boxes, was build a brand new fence for the back yard:

Then I stained the flower boxes to match our deck:

I still have to stain a play structure we build the kids last year, do some aluminum work on the house, and re-do the roof!

Wow, staining the landscape timbers is hardcore. That looks great and adds a nice touch. I just got done putting in new sod and landscape timbers, but no stain.

Nice updates around the house, all the details ad up! I find myself always more motivated to work on the truck vs. my house but seeing as how I'll be listing mine soon, I think I need to reverse my priorities. Thanks for the motivation!

Great thread you got here, it took me a while but i scanned threw most of it all and was wowed by how much good info you got on here. Your Rig looks awesome and it makes me think positive that a person can keep one rust free in out salt infested country haha
