I guess in the move the bus got upgraded as well!

Ever changed the valve cover gaskets and all that goes along with it?

If a front caliper is seized or sticking, you would feel it in the pedal sooner than being able to smell it. Been there, done that. Is the Tundra upgrade worth it? Yes.

HA HA! That's my mom's bus... I was back home for the weekend, following a business trip. :D

As for the valve cover gaskets... I did those approx. 2 years ago. A mechanic tells me that my Rack and Pinion is leaking on my exhaust manifold.... I'm gonna go check on that this morning. :D
 
Got some more goodies today! Only took 2 months for delivery from Magnaflow... :/



Remind me to walk to the U.S next time... should get it faster! :p

First thing to do was to put that old girl on some ramps... :)



Then we cut off the old....



Comparing the two...



Installed using clamps.... had some issues joining the tail pipe with the muffler... it doesn't look pretty... but it works. :D

The video does it no justice... it sounds really "fart canon like" on the video... and nothing like that in person. I'm happy with it! :)

You definitely need a somewhat decent mic to get a true idea of an exhaust note. I'm glad you like the sound! What size is it?
 
You repainted the truck white!?!?!?!? LOL :becky::lol:

Muffler doesn't sound to bad, but I bet it does sound really good in person.

Like I said, I'm not having any delusions of HP or MPG gains, I just think it will clean up that side of the engine compartment, AND have a little custom touch of my own under there. :D

On a side note: Including the 3" tubing I got for free from my buddy, this mod cost me less than $5.00 to do! ;)

whats everyone used to get an inlet tube on the ISR mind. i mean i have the piece of pipe but im still lost on where you guys got the little piece of tube from and how you got it attached
 
Thanks for the comments guys.... The white "paint" is only temporary... lol! Can't wait for this snow to melt, so I can wash my truck again! :D

Update on the exhaust.... sounds great even at highway speed.... but those clamps are not all they were cracked up to be. While in Toronto, one of them let go near the cat.... and man was it loud! lol!

Looks like I'll be welding this sucker up when I get a chance.... don't need it vibrating off on my way to Oba! lol!

Also, got to replace a front stabilizer link.... wondering of using the fronts from a 2nd Gen would fit on the front of mine?? They are longer than the stock rears on my 3rd Gen.... wonder if they are interchangeable on the front too???

I used a piece of brake line... drilled a hole in the ISR tube, and used contact cement to secure it in the hole. It had to be wedged in the hole as well.... so it's nice and tight.
 
Oh! Forgot to mention.... while driving back home from my trip to Toronto.. I came upon an elderly lady on the side of the Hwy in an isolated stretch of the bush. She had lost control of her Nissan Rogue, and ended up burying the entire front end in a snowbank.

When I got there, I asked if she was ok, got to work on getting her out of the bank. :) I pulled out my trusty tow strap (the one I bought over 3 years ago, and never used once.. :D ), hooked both ends up, and easily pulled her out of the snowbank.

Mean Green saved the day! :)
 
I thought that was a CBI bumper but looking closer its a grill! Maybe you can a barbecue grill into a bumper?

Well, Proud of myself tonight! :) While I had my truck in the shop getting the new rad installed and transmission flushed, the mechanic told me that my passenger side CV boot was torn again.

It had torn 2 years ago, and I had just stretched it and hose clamped it in place. It tore right next to the hose clamp location.... :D I was still impressed that it held up that long!! :)

I ordered new boots, and waited for a nice day to replace them both on the passenger side axle. Today... I did the job... and I must say... I'm proud of myself. I was a little nervous doing this job... but thanks to YouTube and some good neighbors who were willing to lend me a 30mm socket and some CV Clamp pliers.. I got it done!

Here's a pic of the two boots in their packaging...




First step, was to take the wheel off, and brake caliper and disc....



At first... I had 2 neighbors offer me their biggest sockets to use to remove the 30mm nut that held the axle on the hub assembly.... none of these fit.. :P



Once I got the right one from my buddy.... I got the axle out. I left the cup and other end of the axle in the truck... I didn't think it was needed to have it removed.. I just re-assembled that end with it installed on the truck. :)



Removed the snap ring using the appropriate pliers and then slipped off the ring with the 3 swivels on it.



Installed the new boots and filled them with the supplied grease....



And Voila! Installed the assembly on the truck!



Took it for a little ride in 4WD.... no sounds, everything works... I'm a happy camper! :)
