Finally a strong and affordable recovery receiver!!!

Just wanted to give a shout out on this killer recovery receiver I picked up from Catoctin Jeep; yaya it's a jeep site save it for another thread...
This guy (Kirk) was awesome to work with and machines these receivers himself out of solid AISI 1040 bar steel. None of that cast/galvanized looking crap you pay 2x the price for from other companies. When I asked him about drilling another hole for aiding in additional recovery points he said, "no problem, thanks for the recommendation! I think I'll do that on all future receivers I machine as well."

I know he only rates this receiver at 9,500lbs, but I think it is much stronger than that... Unless Viking Offroad is posting grossly exaggerated estimates?

Catoctin Jeep receiver made of AISI 1040 steel, (check out 1040 it's much stronger than 1018) - Price $28 - Rating 25,000+ I assume?

That's a nice one. Could you put a ball on that, or is it too wide?

Here it is installed... Have to buy a d-ring shackle yet.
