After ordering my 4Runner over the Thanksgiving weekend I am happy to say that the wait is over and it has finally arrived!!
It is a Blue Trail edition with KDSS and I am loving it.
I had not test driven one with the KDSS but from reading about the improved on road handling I decided to go with it. Although I have only had it two days I think the steering is more precise and it does feel more planted than the base SR5. I am very happy that I got it.
Thanks to all of you that have taken the time to post about your experiences with your 4 Runners. That influenced me the most on choosing this vehicle. Toyota should send a donation to this site every time a person makes a post like this.
Now, extended warranty or not.

That's one beautiful rig PJ, and it sure stands out in your neighborhood against all those white houses...;^) You'll be glad you got the KDSS, and I still notice how out 5th Gen with KDSS flatter and tighter than our 4th Gen with XREAS did.

PJ I meant to add with that with the all painted front end in that beautiful dark blue, I sure recommend you look into getting the film protection. I wouldn't be without it, even with silver that doesn't come close to showing rock chips like your color will. If you're interested stay away from the 3M film, the quality has dropped off and the finish is a light orange peel now days.

There are a couple other manufacturers that are used by installer, including the the clearest, smoothest, and probably most durable XPEL. This will probably sound expensive, but keeping your front paint intact and looking more of less like new may well get you back a lot of the initial cost on trade in.

More importantly it will give you so much more confidence in the ability to keep your rig nice, while using it for it's intended purpose. Especially when you consider the Toyota paint work is notoriously soft, and chips very easily.
