Finally scored me a 1st gen!!

I still haven't even seen this truck in daylight as I've been out of town so I had a good friend go look at this truck and make the call for me being as the seller made it sound as he was getting a lot of calls on it and it had only been on Craig's for a couple of hours. I can't wait to go out and check it out in the morn. The guy wanted $600 and said it hasn't been started in 2 years but ran when parked. My buddy threw a battery in her and it did run just pretty rough but I'm hoping 2 year old gas is the culprit. He talked him down to $500. Tiny bit of rust on RF fender but that's it. Back window is either busted out or down and won't come up but I think I got a deal. I'll let ya know what I find tomorrow. I can't wait to get both of these things up and running and put them on the beach. I'm thinking half doors and some nice bumpers on the 86 are first mods, other than getting it running good.

Yea the blue is nice but it is in need of a paint job and I've always had a thing for orange soooo we'll see.

So today I actually got to play with her a bit and well go figure soon as I try to start it the fuel pump quits working. Have voltage to it when keys to start but no fuel. Popped it out and it was fire hot so that's #1 on my shopping list. Truck has a little more rust than I hoped for but just around the fender wells. I figured when I seen the painted black back wheel wells that someone fixed rust but it is coming back out so I guess I'll have to fix it right this time. Rear window is definitely in a billion pieces in the tailgate so I'm looking for one on the cheap!! Once I get really going I'll start a build thread. Should be fun.

That's my plan, take my time and do it up right. Was digging through the glove box and found paperwork for a brand new trans that was put in the truck in '03. Mileage on the paperwork was 267,000. Truck now has 276,000. The guy told me it's just been a farm truck for the past 10 years and I wasn't really buying that but maybe he wasn't lying. Guess I'll see if the odometer is working right. 9k on a new trans would be my $500 well spent.
