(finally) The Sotovo Build Thread

Hmm... I am not familiar with what Line-X is? Im curious now!

It is professionially applied Bedliner as opposed to a rattle can you can buy at the store. Check out my photo album for photos or if you ever come through San Antonio let me know and we can meet up.

The new tires look great. I personally would have gone black letters out, but its's your truck!

Gives it more of an aggressive stance.

I usually like the black letters in, but for some reason I am digging the white letters out on his rig. I might actually follow in his footsteps, especially when the rims go black.

I have never even given any consideration to it and assumed all vehicles
manufactured after 1969 automatically turn their white letters inward but
I was also opposed to CD vs. Cassette, the Intrawebs and smartphones
so my opinion hasn't exactly proven popular. Not the first time I've had
to reassess what I consider cool.
Love your truck!! Go your own way, brother! F*** yeah!!

Some offroad tires don't even have white lettering. My Intro Trxus I had on my 1st Gen was just black. I agree with your last sentence though!

Hello all and happy 4th of July!!

finally some pictures with the new tires!

Again they are 265/75/16..no rubbing, they fit and IMO look great in this size!

These were just some quick iPhone pics, Im going to do an actual photoshoot on my trip to Wyoming this summer!

Best of all, I got my rake back! Before I swapped the tires, it looked like i had some slight rear sag. But it was just from my crappy mismatched tires I had on from the dealership.

White letters out of course!

Really enhanced the look.

What do you guys think?

Because of your new tires, they are the reason why I registered onto this forum. I like how your new tires look so much I went out and got the exact same tires, same size and with white raised lettering facing the outside. I love how they look on my 2001. I will post some pics soon too. QUESTION THOUGH: How many PSI of air pressure did you fill into each of your tire? I was told to put in 35psi but he didn't look confident about his answer. Do you have better insight on how much PSI? Congrats and thanks for the pics and inspiration! Love the new KO2's!!

Thanks,
Louis

That looks really good Sotovo! Looks way better with the KO2's on it. I definitely think I am going go that route then.

Hey Louis! glad I could be of some inspiration for you!! :) welcome to the forums.

I am currently running 40 PSI because I read a few posts about differing opinions on PSI to run... and I decided to just experiment myself. The factory standard is 35 PSI, however some have said its too soft, and doesnt ride well. Some have run as high as 50, which I think would be a rather hard ride. Im enjoying them at 40 PSI but I am just going to drive it long enough to get used to this PSI, and them im going to switch down to 35 PSI and see how it feels and see if their is any MPG difference! Congrats on the new tires to you too! Tag me when you post some pics! I'll keep you updated on what I find with changing the PSI up and down!

Did a small cheap mod today! Swapped my center console out with one from a 99. It has the extra center storage and sits taller on the console!

The lift is coming soon!! :D

Just an update on what i've done to the runner over the past week!

I wanted to give the runner a different look, so I bought some plastidip and went to town!

I removed my BrushGuard so I could do the bumpers and all around!

I also had to do the TRD decals.

Here's a couple of pics of the finished product!

I ordered 2 packs of TRD decals just in case i missed one up, and I did the passenger side a bit crooked, gonna fix that tomorrow!

Can you post day pictures? I am debating going with black bumpers or keep them chrome. I am also doing the flares black on Monday.

Update to the build thread -

Took a trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming late last year. Wanted to post a few pics from the part of the country this 4runner belongs in ;)

Nice photos and build! Just bought those BFGs in 265/70/R16 in Load Range E for my 98 SR5. I hail from Wyo/Mont! How do you like the ride on the tires, is it stiff? I haven't gotten them on yet, replacing my LBJs soon.

By the way, looks good white letters out. I wish I would have chosen white letters with my new tires.

LOVE LOVE LOVE my BFGs. They ride smoother than the street tires that were on when I bought them. Super comfy and quiet.

I picked up my BF Goodrich KO2's in 265/75/16s today, super stoked!! I was in such a rush to make a dinner appointment I had absolutely no time to stop and take a picture or go drive any more than the ride back to my house to get dressed, so pictures will come tomorrow but I can honestly say, it made he truck look so much better! The truck sits taller and looks way more aggressive, pics and opinion about how they ride soon!
Would 265/70s work?
