Finally!!!

Been searching and searching the desert here in AZ for a 4Runner and I finally found one! I have been trolling here for a while but will start posting more often.

Body seems to be in great shape, the interior is another story though. So far I have changed the oil, put in a new Radiator, thermostat and new filters. Also I just ordered some new bushings from marlin crawler for the play in the shifter.

I plan to flush the transmission soon but other than that I am not sure what else to do, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome, good looking truck.

What motor does it have? If it's the 22RE, you want to do the timing chain and guides if you don't know when they were done last, especially if you can hear it rattling. If it's the 3.0, check and see if there's an outstanding head gasket recall on it, you might get lucky.

Thanks, I will look into the timing chain. It has the 22re and its a manual. From what I can tell it is a Base or DX model.

I didn't even notice that. You've got one 16 inch rim, and the rest are 15s? You need to punch the previous owner in the face. :lmao:

Haha yeah not sure where the 16 inch rim came from but I have the matching 15" in the garage it looks like the guy had a blowout cause there is a big gash in the tire. I was going to get new tires anyway so no worries there.

Looks good!! I'm partial to white 1st gens. Has it been repainted?? I noticed the upper part of the door is white, instead of black. Wish I could afford a respray on mine. Either way, sounds like a good project, have fun with it.

Not too sure I didn't notice any imperfections and it is pretty rusty around the antenna so I don't think so. I found many pictures of white first gens that have black and white around the door. Anyone know for sure?
