Firestone Air Bags

We just completed a lengthy road/camping trip throughout the west (11 national parks across 9 states). Our 'Runner was loaded down with a lot of camping & recovery gear and I'm wondering if airbags would be a good way to go for future trips. I've been researching different rear coils to better handle the weight, but don't want a terrible stiff ride for the 95% of the time we aren't packed up for a trip. Air bags seem like a good supplement, but want to make sure they aren't "just" for towing as we haven't towed anything yet. Are they good for carrying extra weight in/on the vehicle?

I have the Air Lift 100's and control them w/ a Firestone pump I have mounted in the engine compartment. I can inflate/deflate from inside the cab. I keep 10 psi unloaded and 20-25 when towing.

I'm thinking of installing firestone airbags on a 4th gen.

I'm planning on towing a 4000 lb trailer with stock suspension & daystar 2.5/1.5 spacers. Has anyone used and/or installed the firestone air-rite compressor as well?

I had a very slight lift in the rear with about 20lbs. As you go up to 35lbs, you see the rear raise slightly. When deflating, you see it drop very slightly, but still a bit higher than without the bags installed. For me, it gave the level look with weight still in the rear I wanted. The ride is a little more rigid, and firm, and going over speed bumps the rear kicks down harder if I cruise over a bump. We did the necessary measurements, since I have a lift, to cut less bump stop in the rear, to compensate for the lift.

I have a 3" lift as well. How much of the bum pstop did you cut off?
