First Death Valley trip, chicken rock and hot springs

I forgot to say thanks for this write-up a few months ago. I used it as inspiration to complete a DV trip last weekend and we completed the Pleasant Canyon loop too (but in the daytime).

In one of your photos there is an older 4Runner with an Airtop RTT on top but the RTT is pushed forward. How is the RTT supported in the front? Did he push it forward to put other items in the back?

Yes I pushed the Autohome forward 15 inches or so to make room in the back for some Alu-cab storage boxes. I have one permanently installed to the rack. I have room for one more but smaller box.

With the hard shell tent it takes up all the room for any storage additional storage up there. Pushing it forward allowed me to have the best of both worlds. Recovery gear, tools, air pump, axe, etc are inside the 81 quart box.
