First Gen 22re or 22rte (trubo)

So I got rid of my first gen runner a couple years ago because I moved, and I have convinced the wife that we need another. We dont do hardly any offroading, but it will be the truck to get us to the ski slopes and my daily driver to work.

Anywho, my 1987 was a 22re and I always wanted the turbo (just because). Not super mechanically inclined, but I also know that the turbo isn't very popular. Lend me you thoughts good fellas. Should I stick with a 5-speed 22re or get the auto turbo?

In my opinion the RET's are far less reliable. On the other hand it's nice to have that turbo when going into the mountians.
