Back over the Christmas break, my son and I went to a U-pull it yard and snagged a rear air deflector off of a '99 for $22 to go on his '98. After researching on here, and learning about rivnuts :clap2: I decided that we could do it!
There really wasn't much to it. I assembled the deflector onto the two brackets, eyeballed the assembly in place on the truck (backed that up with some measuring to verify eyeball-o-meter), and marked the holes for drilling. I gotta admit it was a little distressing drilling holes in the truck, :fear: but it turned out great.
At some point we need to at least touch up the screwheads with some black; maybe repaint the whole thing, but we'll see.
I used the rivnuts set from Harbor Freight - 45 Piece Threaded Insert Riveter Kit
