First Modifications

Hey,

I have a 2003 SR5 4Runner, and I'm looking to add my first modifications. I'll primarily be using my vehicle for snow conditions, such as driving mountains in over 1' of snow. As of now, the SUV is completely stock. I just replaced the tires with some new Yokohama Geolandars A/T. For snow and other terrain, what would be the best first upgrades? I'd prefer the least expensive mods first.

Note: I'm replacing my bumper in the next few days, should I get a custom Shockworks or ARB bumper?

First and best upgrade is a new set of shocks. Most people prefer the Bilstein 5100's because you can adjust the spring perch on the from to get up to a 2.5" lift on the front.

A lot of 4th gen owners do an FJ spring swap as well. search those two items and you will see a mountain of info.

To me the Bilsteins are a cheap upgrade because shocks are something that need replaced anyway.
